Microneedling

Microneedling treatment is a procedure that uses several small needles to puncture the top layers of your skin while applying topical hydrating and anti-aging serum resulting in the rejuvenation of your skin by initiating collagen production through your body’s natural healing process. This process results in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and improves the overall texture of your skin. Microneedling is also highly effective in diminishing scars including acne scars.

Microneedling may also be used in combination with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) to increase the overall collagen production and improve your results. This process involves a quick blood draw in the office. Your blood is spun to separate the plasma portion of your blood and then is applied during and after the procedure. This is also commonly known as the “Vampire Facial,” popular with many of the celebrity advertisements.

Microneedling treatment is essentially painless due to the topical anesthesia (numbing cream) used prior to the procedure. Following your treatment, your face may be reddened for up to 2-3 days and may feel like a minor sunburn. This is normal and redness varies depending on different skin types.

Most people notice visible skin improvements after just one treatment, however depending on your skin appearance additional treatments may be necessary.
