PDO Threads
What are PDO Threads?
Minimally invasive procedure to help rid your face or body of loose and sagging skin. Produces a natural look with immediate results. This is a great alternative to a surgical lift, without the downtime and costs that go along with surgical lifts. PDO, or polydioxanone, is an absorbable surgical suture preloaded into a hypodermic needle that gets inserted underneath the skin.
Is there scarring?
One of the safest implantable materials used in the body and is fully absorbed in your skin within 4-6 months, leaving little to no scar tissue.
How does it work?
PDO threads work by creating “trauma” or selective inflammatory responses from the procedure itself allowing our skin to heal itself naturally by creating new collagen growth in the process. This new collagen results in a tighter, smoother, and younger skin appearance.
PDO threads can be used essentially anywhere on the body, however the face and neck are the most desired and effective areas of treatment.
Different types of threads may be used to either create a mesh under the skin for better volume/filling or by lifting areas of sagging or loose skin.
How much does PDO cost?
Standard threads – $36/ thread (average # of threads per procedure is 8-10)
Barbed threads- $229/ thread (average # of threads per procedure is 4 but varies depending on area)
